SAFCO Mining S.A.R.L. was established in 2014 as a joint venture of Mr.Kamlesh Jain, Mr.Atul Joshi, and Mr.Reza Moosa to install Copper Sulphate plant. The plant originated from Benco Plant Repairs CC, South Africa – specializes in plant, machinery, and technology of said project.
Mr.Atul Joshi and Mr.Reza Moosa were working potentially in the field of Rough Diamond, Gold, and Copper since 1997 and earned a good reputation in the export-import business of said commodities. Later they acquired copper mines on lease from Gecamines – (a state-owned mining company in the DRC.) and have installed a big plant to upgrade low-grade copper ore to high grade - suitable for Arc Furnace for copper ore refining. Further, they have decided to install an Induction Furnace to upgrade copper ore purity to the tune of 98%.
SAFCO has acquired Rich Lime Stone mines on a lease which covers the area of 12sq.km. They developed 14 km. road and a bridge on the river to transport Lime Stone. Lime Stone is the main substance to extract copper from copper ore. At present 70% of Lime Stone is being imported by Gecamines. Hence SAFCO has a ready market in D R Congo for Lime Stone.
Gecamines uses a heap leaching process where they are mixing copper ore with concentrate Sulphuric Acid to extract copper from copper ore. This mixed mass Gecamines is transferring to SAFCO to extract copper sulphate. Here SAFCO is processing and delivering the mass and extracting Copper Sulphate to Gecamines - DRC for further process to make Copper Cathode.
SAFCO has mutual consent with Gecamines – DRC for their processing plant. SAFCO is availing part of the finished product - Copper Sulphate as processing charge and is free to sale in open market.
SAFCO has exclusive rights to put up copper sulphate plant at the mining site of Gecamines at various locations.
